About Sarah Barker
Sarah is deeply passionate about helping others become their best selves. Her specialty lies in helping others get unstuck—whether they’re navigating their relationship with alcohol or other substances, adjusting to an empty nest, returning to the workforce, or processing grief and loss.
Recently trained in Presence-Based Coaching methodology, Sarah is actively pursuing ICF certification through the International Coaching Federation and is currently concluding her coaching certification while accumulating coaching hours under the mentorship of Heidi and Dr. Lovey. During this mentorship period, you can receive reduced-rate 1:1 coaching sessions with Sarah—$30 for 30 minutes or $45 for 45 minutes—a wonderful opportunity for clients seeking quality affordable coaching.
With over ten years of experience coaching college students and professionals of all ages, Sarah brings warmth, insight, and a strong foundation in counseling to her work at Lifeing. Having personally experienced the power of community during her own overwhelming times, Sarah credits her 2 ½ years of sobriety to the encouragement and connection she received from others, while learning to take ownership of her own story.
Her life experiences include losing a parent and a brother when she was a teenager, living and working abroad, 35 years of marriage, stepping out of the workforce for ten years to raise her three children, and navigating a return to work. Her career trajectory has included various stops along the way—higher education, corporate training, marketing, and real estate—with a common thread of uncovering client needs and wants while helping them achieve their individual goals.
Sarah credits her quick wit to having survived growing up in a house with six older brothers. With her training in improv from the Second City’s amateur workshop, she integrates presence-based, creative thinking into her coaching style. She also brings somatic practices into her coaching sessions to help clients release stress and be more intentional. Above all, Sarah offers clarity, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others figure out and stay on their desired paths.
She and her husband share an empty nest in suburban Boston and spend time with their adult kids and three golden granddogs whenever possible.
